Weekly Memo Nov 6

All

  1. SEXUAL HEALTH SPEAKER We are pleased to have a speaker from Saleema Noon Sexual Health at our school on Mon, Nov 17th. A parent information session will be taking place from 8:30-9:30am and then she will be speaking with age appropriate groups throughout the day. While this is open to all parents, it is geared towards parents of Extended-Day and Elementary students.
  2. FUNDRAISING CORNER TICKETS: Only 2 weeks to go until our curling fundraiser!!! Don’t miss out on getting your tickets this Friday. Cash or cheque accepted. Cost is $35/ticket. NEED CHILDCARE? Childcare will be available by donation at the school for the entire duration of the event. There will be a sign up form posted on the bulletin board outside of Tiffany’s office. Max 22 children! First come, first serve. All donations will be given on the day of the event. There will be a box on the table when you sign your children in. Please place your donation in an envelope in the box. North Star Montessori children only! SILENT AUCTION ITEMS: We are kindly encouraging families to call on friends, family, and businesses for donation items. All these items will be placed in a silent auction on the day of our annual fundraiser. All donated items need to be brought into the school by Fri, Nov 14th latest and given to Jeanne. WINE WALL: Please do not forget about your wine for the very popular wine wall. Tickets will be available for sale at the event. The more wine we receive, the more wine you could possibly win!
  3. AID TO LIFE is now registering for January to June classes. This unique program offers parents the opportunity to learn alongside their child in a beautifully prepared Montessori environment. Parent-Infant classes (for children 2-15 months) run on Mondays and Parent-Toddler classes (for children 15 months-3 years) run Tuesdays through Fridays. Please see attached flyer for more information and feel free to pass on to friends and family! Christie Stanford (the Head Facilitator) is always available to chat if you would like more specific information about this program.
  4. OPEN HOUSE Our next Open House is scheduled for Wed, Nov 12th from 4:00-7:00pm. This is a great opportunity for friends & family to tour the school, have a closer look inside the classrooms and meet our wonderful teachers. Please help spread the word!
  5. REMEMBRANCE DAY Reminder that there is no school on Mon, Nov 10th (Non-Instructional Day) and Tues, Nov 11th (Remembrance Day).
  6. PARKING As everyone is aware, parking is an ongoing issue for us. In an effort to assist in keeping as many spots available as possible, please remember to park your vehicle in a designated space. Please do not double park or park at the end of the cul-de-sac. This makes it difficult for other parents to turn around at the end of the street and it creates an unsafe environment for students & parents crossing the street. Underground parking is also available at the North Shore Winter Club. Thank you for your co-operation.
