  1. LYNN VALLEY DAYS It’s almost time for the annual Lynn Valley Days Parade on Sat, May 26th!  This year is the 100th Lynn Valley Day and the theme is Heritage.  Sign up on the office bulletin board and let’s show Lynn Valley our North Star community spirit!  Further details coming soon!
  2. CHILDRUN Are you ready to run?  North Star has been entering a team in the Children’s Hospital ChildRun for several years now, and we’re doing it again this year! It’s a 5 km walk/run on Sunday, June 3rd near Children’s Hospital that is fun, great exercise for people of any age or fitness level, and an opportunity to support a wonderful charity.  If you would like to join us this year, the deadline for regular registration is May 20th.  After that, last minute fees will apply so follow the instructions below to register.  Last year we had a great turnout of over 25 people.  Come out and enjoy a great experience with other North Star students, family and friends.  Register at:  http://bcchf.ca/events/events-calendar/childrun/ Click on Register>select No (unless you were a member last year and know your registration information)>Join an Existing Team>scroll down to North Star Montessori team, and enter your personal information.  Further details to come!  Please email Brett (Liam and Ryan’s dad) at ([email protected]) bkcoyle (at) shaw (dot) ca with any questions in the meantime.


  1. VISION SCREENING Vancouver Coastal Health will be here for the 3 Year Old Vision Screening on Thurs, May 10th.  Information letters have been placed in all applicable family pockets however please let me know if you have any further questions.
  2. MOTHER’S DAY TEA The Casa classrooms will be holding a Mother’s Day Tea on Fri, May 11th.  Watch for details outside your child’s classroom!


  1. LOWER ELEMENTARY PE  The LE students will be doing Biking/Hiking for PE next week.
  2. UPPER ELEMENTARY PE  The UE students will be hiking for PE next week.
