During the first month of my summer, I gardened, watered, went for long walks and enjoyed the warm summer days. I entertained my friends on my outside deck overlooking the garden. We made some amazing meals with the fresh tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, kale, strawberries and raspberries (which I am happy to say are still producing). Sadly to say one of the down sides of having a large flower and vegetable garden is that you can’t leave it for more than a couple of days.

Fortunately I was able to get away for a few days to the Cottages at Cultus Lake for a girls week end with lots of wining, dining, swimming, walks in the evening (they even have two swans in the outside pond.

August I dedicated to doing projects around the house on my never ending to do list of painting, cleaning, organizing cupboards’, closets, sheds and basements to name a few things.   I also was able to try a few new restaurants with my husband before he headed to California for work.

I am happy to be back to school and looking forward to another year at North Star!
