Developing autonomous, responsible students.
Program
The Elementary Program is a six year program divided into two, three-year cycles. The multi-age groupings of the classrooms, ages 6-9 and 9-12, continue to promote learning from peers to eventual leadership at each new stage of development.
Building Upon Early Education
North Star Montessori offers an authentic Montessori program which follows the Montessori Method as outlined by Dr. Montessori and are meant to be a seamless continuation of the foundation so carefully designed and implemented in the early years. The multi-age groupings of the classrooms, ages 6-9 and 9-12, continue to promote learning from peers to eventual leadership at each new stage of development.
As in preschool, children work though the Montessori materials, though these are now more complex and age-appropriate. Second Language instruction, Music and Physical Education instruction are increased to meet the children’s needs and those of the Provincial Curriculum.
