Job Title: Montessori AMI Elementary Teacher (Head Teacher) (NOC:4142)

Anticipated start date: August 2012

Salary: Competitive Salary plus extended-health benefits

Type: Full-Time Permanent

Qualifications: Applicants must have an AMI Elementary diploma and university degree. Must also be eligible for BC Independent School Teacher Certification and successfully pass a criminal record check and medical examinations. Must be eligible to be first aid certified.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year in education work experience

Job Duties Include: Preparing presentations for students according to AMI curriculum; Identify children’s individual learning needs; Promote activities that lead students to increase their physical, mental and social development; Evaluate progress of students and discuss results with students, parents and school officials; Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra support; participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, teacher training workshops, parent education evenings; May supervise student teachers, aides, and assistants; May specialize in mathematics, special education or second language instruction.

Language: Must be completely fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
